To help monitor your pets health we now routinely check a urine sample as part of our examination in all cats and dogs over 7 years of age. This test checks urine concentration which can give us a clue to organ function as our pet's age.
Bring a fresh urine sample with you if you know you are bringing you pet in for a check. We can generally get samples readily from dogs though cats may present a bit more of a challenge!
A tip for cat owners, empty and clean the litter tray and use some roughly torn paper or polystyrene packing material as a substitute for litter to help you to collect a sample.
