Dashing Danni is a 10 year old German Shorthaired Pointer who came to visit us to have some lumps checked. As part of his check up it was found he had degenerative joint disease or arthritis of the hips.
It was decided that after we removed the lumps we would work on relieving his arthritis.
Danni began a series of injections that would help slow down the arthritis and improve his mobility. Danni became more mobile during the course of 4 injections and was playing more with his housemate Fudge.
Treatments for Arthritis
Cartrophen injections are generally given every 6 months and provide obvious benefit in 80% of dogs and cats but provide benefits to the joints of 100% of dogs and cats.
Osteo-eze Active is a product which helps prevent the progression of arthritis. It contains glucosamines and chondroitins and is advised by the Queensland University Vet School to be the best of the joint protectants that can be added to food.
What's more, when used in conjunction with Cartrophen, the 3 drugs act synergistically - that is, they all improve each others effects. Osteo-eze Active costs about 70 cents per day for a 25kg dog.
